One of our students found this little guy wandering around our parking lot.  I am going to release him near Telford Lake after school.  It gave  us a great opportunity to discuss what to do when we encounter wildlife in our community.  We submitted an observation form with the Alberta Conservation Association to help with with their conservation efforts.

Next Wednesday, September 16th from 5-7pm, we will be having a Meet the Teacher BBQ at the school. Carnival des sucres! -- March 8th -- FREE EVENT!

This is an excellent opportunity for students to get to practice their French outside the classroom.  I am hoping to be able to make it, as it is one of my favorite events in the city!  I encourage you all to come out and celebrate Francophone culture!
It is across from the Faculté Saint-Jean in Edmonton (near Bonnie Doon Mall) from 11am until 3pm. There is going to be great food, indoor and outdoor activities and traditional French music.

We will be starting a new term on Monday, and here's what's in store for you over the next couple months:

7F -- Verbes, verbes, homophones, verbes, homophones....
Well actually, we will be focusing on how to incorporate proper verb tenses into our writing, how to edit our work, and how to get the most out of reading.  I also plan on doing a lot more oral work this semester. So remember: Restez calme et parlez le francais!

Don't forget your blog post on Pédro will be due next week, so it's a good idea to get ahead :)

9F -- We are going to SPACE.  This is one of my favorite topics, so I'm excited to see how far we can explore this topic.  We will be learning about current and past events that have lead us to know the things we do about the Universe, as well as why we still have so many questions about what is really out there.

RIP Pédro

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the death of our beloved classroom pet Pedro. Although no one is sure of his exact age, he surpassed the average 6 years of Bearded Dragons.  He is survived by our class fish, and frog Herman.  We will be having a classroom memorial tomorrow at lunch. He will be greatly missed.
