Problems with Google Classroom Updates for Parents

Hi Parents,

If you are still waiting for your Google Classroom invite, you might need to create a Google account. No need for a new email address, your current one is fine, just click THIS and create an account. Please let me know once you have done this so I can resend the invite to you.  Hopefully, this will resolve the issue for everyone, but if you still do not receive an invite I will investigate further.

Welcome - September 2016

Welcome back to ELJHS!
We will be having a Meet The Teacher BBQ September 1st from 5 until 7pm.  There will be hotdogs and light refreshments for you to enjoy as you roam the halls and get to know your new teachers.

I encourage parents to take a look at the Student Handbook to have an idea of school policies, this way we are all on the same page.

You can also find an updated calendar for school activities on our website.

Students are strongly encouraged to bring their own device (with a keyboard) to class daily. If you prefer pen and paper, scissors, a ruler, pencil crayons (or markers) and a glue stick, as well as a non-spiral notebook should be brought to class daily.

Show in the Sky - See 5 Planets Align.

For the first time in 10 years, Jupiter, Mars, Saturn, Venus and Mercury will be in line in the early morning sky.  Starting January 28th, the moon will help guide you to each of the planets, if you're new to astronomy.  You'll have to wake up early to take it all in though, as they will be best seen before sunrise.  This website has more details about this neat little party in the sky!

Here are some tools that can help you relax before exams.

Make sure to eat a breakfast high in protein (eggs, peanut butter, yogurt) before you exams to give you enough energy.

You should already have started studying. Start with 15-30 minutes a night and work yourself up.  Make sure to take breaks, and give yourself a reward.

We will begin studying for midterms, so you should make your best effort to be prepared for class. Notes, pencil, flash cards and textbook should be brought with you to EVERY class so we do not have to waste time.
